skeletons found in 1799 dressed in armor with the "Welsh coat of arms" on
the skeletons. George Rogers Clark believed the skeletons to possibly
be the soldiers mentioned in the note (11.) above. In "Sketches of
Louisville" (1819 Henry McMurtrie) said: The field contained "an
immense quantity of human bones" scattered in such a manner that it could
