Former U.S. Congressman Don Ritter (1979-1993), Chairman of the Afghanistan Foundation, will conduct a press conference on the Foundation's recent research mission to Afghanistan and the region.

Dr. Ritter led a delegation of five members internationally to probe the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. The mission team met with senior officials from various parties to the conflict including the Taliban, the Northern Alliance, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Russia.

The research mission team, which includes key foreign policy and national security experts, will report to a twelve Member Task Force, including a bipartisan core group in Congress, who will forge a White Paper on U.S. policy toward Afghanistan with a set of policy recommendations.
